The 14 best bed and breakfasts in Acadia National Park (2024)

The Little Fig Hotel is a budget-friendly option in the heart of Bar Harbor, Maine. The Inn offers guests spacious modern rooms and suites, as well as free Wi-Fi and a spa. Guests can also enjoy waterfront dining, chic art galleries, and charming cafes downtown.

Loved this property! Great location, a few blocks from the main st., very walkable. Very reasonable rates. Dog friendly. Very clean rooms. It was great to stay in a very nice, comfortable room, that was also dog friendly. It was a cold night and there was plenty of warm fuzzy blankets. And a refrigerator in the room which was extremely helpful. Staff was wonderful and very attentive. Had an issue with the door lock and it was taken care of by the owner immediately. Check in and check out was a breeze. Great tea/coffee set up in lobby too. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back.

We visited the Little Fig on 9/30/22, and found the team to be very friendly and accommodating. Nice, clean rooms with a forgotten feature- housekeeping service everyday- you don't have to request it. Breakfast items and coffee each morning, right in the middle of Bar Harbor. Almost sitting in Acadia NP, and we were able to visit all the spots we wanted over our 3 night stay. We also rode electric bikes on the Carriage Trails of Acadia, and there is a very helpful bike rental shop just across the street. Definitely a great place to stay on your visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Enjoy!!

Just woke up from our first night of stay. I’m not sure what’s their secret to the bed, but it was so cozy and comfy I slept right through the night. This is our 4th hotel on this trip, and this is by far the best bed.The hotel is walking distance to everything in Bar Harbour (but not in the center) even with an 8 year old in tow. It has its own dedicated parking lot behind the building so you don’t have to fight for street parking. The lobby has coffee, water, juice, fruit, and light snacks. Our room is beautifully decorated with a fridge and a microwave. The staff is very friendly, and we enjoy the homey feel to our room. So far so good!I’m really glad my hubby convinced me to stay at an Inn rather than the larger hotel chain!

The little fig is a great place to stay. 5-10 minute walk to downtown and the water. The staff is so friendly. We were greeted by Ninah on arrival and she was extremely helpful. She gave us great recommendations and helped us settle in. The rooms are modern and clean. They have a nice size fridge with small operating freezer and microwave. The lobby has waters and juices stocked at all times and has on the go breakfast options in the morning. Danishes, muffins(including gluten free), yogurt(including dairy free), overnight oats, fruit. Coffee and teas. Granola bars and baked goods at the desk all day that you can help yourself to. Out back are Adirondack chairs with a propane fire pit. Free parking out back was fantastic as well. Can’t say enough nice things. The only thing I wish we had in our room was a full length mirror, but that is a minor detail.

We stayed for 1 night as we explored Acadia national park. The building was clean and there was enough parking. Breakfast is included, which was a major plus. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the decorations were nice. A very welcoming place! Suzie was at the front desk and was awesome. She gave us recommendations for local food and lighthouses to see in Portland on our way home. We would gladly stay again!

Oh, do I love a gem of a place. I absolutely loved my stay here. The Little Fig is conveniently located, walking distance to everything. The place is kept immaculately, clean as a whistle. The staff is beyond helpful, Nina had great recommendations for anything you needed and the manager, Skye, is equally as informative and sees that all the details are taken care of. There is a "grab and go" breakfast so you can head out to Acadia (or wherever), the rooms are clean, fresh, well-appointed and quiet. It is a walk up hotel, I was on the third floor in a king suite. It was fantastic. It was spacious, clean, plenty of seating, and did I mention, reasonably priced. I slept very, very well and enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Thank you

The location can’t be beat, it’s a short walk to town yet far enough to be very quiet at night. We were in a dog friendly annex room which was tastefully remodeled and very clean and comfortable. This was a great place for us to stay while bringing our dog along and I am glad that we did as the town of Bar Harbor is very dog friendly. The room our daughter had in the main building hasn’t been remodeled recently but it was still very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There isn’t daily room service currently because of COVID but you can get anything you need from the front desk including complimentary coffee. We will definitely stay here again.

Our family had an amazing stay at this hotel. We had two bedrooms and plenty of room for our family of 5. The hotel was located in a great location perfect for walking downtown to all the shops and to the harbor. The rooms were clean and the front desk provided a light breakfast and fresh cookies 24 hour a day! Loved it all and would highly recommend it.

The Little Fig is a gem. The rooms were clean, comfortable and came with a refrigerator and microwave. It is within walking distance of everything in Bar Harbor so you can just park your car there and enjoy the town. The manager, Skye, was amazing. We noticed a small problem with the plumbing and mentioned it to her on the way out. The problem was fixed before we got back in a few hours later. She was extremely pleasant and willing to offer information on the restaurants and attractions in the area. The Inn is only a few miles from the entrance to Acadia National Park and Skye was able to assist us with information on that as well.Highly recommended

It's a nice little hotel which is in walking distance from Bar Harbor downtown. Rooms were clean and they had a few food options available at all times in the lobby.I booked 2 queen bed room for one night but decided to stay for 2 more days. And Nina was really helpful and made it possible by moving my family to 1 queen bed room and providing additional beds for my kids.Overall I was very pleased with my stay.

fantastic service: Paula recommended two great restaurants we loved and was very knowledgeable about the area; Susie was amazing she made delicious little cakes for tea time. Brilliant location, a walk away from the city centre. There is no cooked breakfast but had a great grab & go breakfast which was better than expected. We booked two rooms, shame there wasn’t more seating indoors to chill as a group but they had lots of nice lounge chairs outside when sunny.the place was super clean and very quiet, beautifully folded towels and nice selection of bathroom products. Black-out blinds and air conditioning, phew! a selection of pillows though too big for my taste, it’s always hard to find the perfect pillow in hotels.Note there is no wardrobe inside the bedroom, just some hooks but no hangers, lots of drawers. There is no lift, one bedroom was on the third floor but they gave us the other bedroom on the ground floor for the guest that had mobility issues, so the arrangement worked well overall.summary: great value for money and we were able to make the booking last minute due to changing family plans.

Loved our stay here! The rooms were all updated and very clean. I loved the ambience and the appearance that each room’s door looked like the entrance to its own cottage. The amenities were also above and beyond. The location was only a short walk from downtown bar harbor and an easy drive to most of Acadia. Would definitely recommend staying here!

I didn’t stay here but got a massage from Mandy and it was lovely! She really worked out my knots and I felt nice and loose after.

One of the best hotel experiences! The rooms were clean and kept clean! Fridge in room was very helpful, and they had fresh cookies every night and coffee and yogurt / muffins every morning for the guests! The location was walkable to everything we needed and 10 min drive to all the views and hikes of Acadia National Park. The staff was very accommodating as well! 5/5 amazing!!

The Little Fig is a wonderful little hotel. The rooms are very nice, very clean and quite comfortable. We mentioned a small problem with the shower diverter just to let the staff know. They jumped right on it and fixed it immediately. The location is great. It is a half mile to a mile from just about everything. We easily walk to restaurants and other merchants. There is a hardware store just across the street and a Hannaford diagonally across the street. This place is great!

I’m so happy we stumbled on this cute hotel! Usually my husband and I stay at chain hotels because we know what to expect there, but this place exceeded our expectations! Starting with the front desk staff, Nina, she was super kind and was an encyclopedia of knowledge about Bar Harbor. The lobby area is very cute and comes with fully stocked complimentary snacks and drinks which I thought was such a nice touch! The rooms are cozy and clean. The beds are super comfortable and the decor in our room was great. Location is within walking distance (5 mins) to the water and shops, and there is free parking behind the building for guests. There is nothing I would change about our stay, will definitely be returning here!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Little Fig Hotel very much. Easy walk into the town of Bar Harbor. Clean comfortable room. Very nice assortment of free snacks and beverages in the lobby. The staff was super friendly and accommodating as well...especially Skye and Suzie! Thanks for everything!

This adorable boutique hotel is located within walking distance of downtown Bar Harbor and was the perfect home base for our trip to Acadia National Park. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were all so kind and helpful and were more than happy to recommend the best local dining spots. The complimentary sweet treats, fresh flowers displayed at the front desk, and quirky decor only enhanced our overall fantastic experience staying here. Would highly recommend staying at the Little Fig Inn.

We stayed for our anniversary and they upgraded our room for free. It is a cute inn, renovated but keeping the character of the old building. They offer complimentary breakfast and there are snacks and beverages to grab whenever you want. I would recommend!

Newly remodeled, adorable little hotel in downtown Bar Harbor. Fantastic service from Suzie and Ninah. We rolled in at 11pm after a 6 hour drive and they had left hot coffee and cupcakes for us! They had great recommendations and were very helpful. The rooms aren’t huge but they are a decent size. New beds and bedding and it’s nicely decorated. They have snacks available all day and night which is a nice touch!

We stayed for a long weekend in April and it was the first time back since ownership changed. The addition of a grab and go breakfast was helpful. The location is great. The rooms are comfortable. The staff is knowledgeable about local restaurants.

I can't express how delightful our two-night stay at Little Fig Hotel in Bar Harbor, Maine was! From the moment we checked in until we bid farewell, Suzie, the wonderful staff member, made our experience truly exceptional. Her warm, friendly demeanor set the tone for our entire stay.Suzie not only welcomed us with a smile but also took the time to offer fantastic dinner recommendations, enriching our culinary experience in Bar Harbor. Moreover, when we inquired about local photographers for our 1-year anniversary, she went above and beyond. Suzie explored options through the Bar Harbor happenings Facebook page, providing us with three excellent choices. Thanks to her efforts, we had a memorable anniversary shoot, capturing moments we'll cherish forever. The hotel itself was a haven of cleanliness and coziness. Its central location made exploring Bar Harbor a breeze, and we appreciated the convenience of the grab-and-go breakfast, along with the assortment of beverages and snacks available. It's worth noting that while there are no elevators, Suzie's kindness shone through once again as she offered to assist us with our bags up the stairs, making the experience hassle-free.In summary, our stay at Little Fig Hotel was marked by unparalleled hospitality, making us feel truly at home. We are already looking forward to our next visit and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Bar Harbor. Thank you, Suzie, and the entire team at Little Fig Hotel, for making our anniversary getaway so special. We wholeheartedly recommend this charming hotel to fellow travelers seeking a delightful and memorable experience in Bar Harbor.

The location is great, the rooms were spacious and not at all uncared for or dirty, but we had issues with the thin walls and, apparently, a previous occupant. The refrigerator in room 221 smelled like something died in it. The staff did come and reclean and deodorize the fridge. We felt uncomfortable even leaving water bottles to cool in it. The walls are thin enough that we heard the bass from the music in the room next door and heard that occupant cough his lungs out until 11:30 pm. The room we were in also smelled of tobacco smoke -- not sure if previous occupant smoked or if the smell drifted from another room, but it was pervasive.

Wonderful staff, Susie was who we had the pleasure of meeting the most and was very sweet and helpful. The small touches with the grab and go food items and snacks were great to have quickly or take back to your room to enjoy. Location was perfect for everything and just enough on its own to avoid the large crowds from docked cruise ships. We def stay again and highly recommend! Made our trip from Indiana amazing!

We stayed at the Little Fig on our trip to Bar Harbor in July. The innkeepers were amazing and super accommodating as they had our room ready for an early check in. The room was very clean and updated! The hotel felt cozy and friendly. There were fresh baked goods for a grab and breakfast. As well, the staff was so nice and they gave us great suggestions on all the locals favorite spots. The hotel was within walking distance from downtown Bar Harbor and had good parking in the back of the hotel. It was a short drive to Acadia, the perfect location for exploring the coast of Maine!Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Bar Harbor area. Super friendly, accommodating, great service, and very clean!

Convenient and walkable to downtown Bar Harbor and a short drive to Acadia. Aptly updated rooms and excellent customer service from the front desk, specifically Ninah. Complimentary coffee and snacks in front desk area. Would definitely stay here again when visiting. Great view of Cadillac Mountain from our room. One small bit of advice - there is no elevator so please take this into account when booking if stairs are an issue.

A wonderful place to stay to explore Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park - in the winter too! Can we give this a 10 please!! Great location at an affordable price made it easy to go out on 2-3 hour adventures and have a place to relax and thaw! Skye and Susie made you feel at home even after a long season of tourists! I love this place and if it’s closed for the season check out the partner property Primrose Inn!

Beautiful and wonderfully clean. Perfect location. Paula, especially, and the rest of the staff were great: knowledgeable, helpful and entertaining! Really made our stay fun, and that's the truth! Food provision and the evening fresh baked goods spoiled us. Next time in Bar Harbor, we'll certainly stay here; otherwise will recommend the Little Fig Hotel to others. [On webpage, might mention first floor is handicap as no elevator.]

As someone who mostly camps and rarely splurges on hotels, I was so happy with my choice to stay at the Little Fig this November. My room was comfortable, clean, and cute and I was so glad to have a place to relax on a rainy day between hikes. The staff were really helpful and welcoming, and happy to answer any questions that came up. I really cannot say enough about how king they were, especially on a holiday week!It was a pleasant surprise that their breakfast/snack bar had dairy free and gluten free options (dairy free yogurt, gluten free instant oatmeal and overnight oats, Kind bars). As someone who has celiac disease and lactose intolerance this was a game changer. My room also had a microwave and fridge, and a health foods store as well as Hannaford's grocery store was right next door if I needed to get more food. The Little Fig is a nice short walk to all the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor, without being so central that you get stuck in all the traffic and noise that I’m sure picks up in the summer months. It’s easy to get out of town and get into the park quickly. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an Acadia getaway!
