The 14 best high teas in Chiyoda (2024)

Nestled in the historic Nihonbashi district, Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is a luxurious high-rise hotel offering stunning city views and top-notch amenities. The hotel boasts 10 restaurants, including three Michelin-starred options, and an upscale spa. The lavish decor features textiles and weavings crafted by Japanese artisans using traditional techniques.

The Mandarin Oriental exceeded all expectations. The room was beautiful with an excellent view. It was obvious that the hotel took attention to detail seriously. For example, our daytime room service wasn’t just replacing soft towels and tidying; it was a cleaning and dressing our room to the same standard as when we checked in. Our sleep was superb in the king bed with the most comfortable pillows. The bathroom was amazing as well with a tub large enough for two. Location is perfect. If you venture out from your oasis, there are so many dining and shopping experiences right outside. Overall - 6* out of 5*. We loved our stay.

From the moment we arrived until we checked out, the experience at the hotel was just amazing. Staff extremely attentive to our needs, room cleaned to perfection everyday, turn down service was top notch. They provide everything you need for a comfortable stay (free bottled water, tea, coffee; bathroom has bath salts, dental kit, hair brush … all toiletries needed).Breakfast has good choices, very delicious.

Yes the views are insane! The lobby is like something out of a film set and the whole place smells like a spa but please just hit the bar as much as possible!🍸 the co*cktails they create are magical and the attention detail along with the teams passion for co*cktails is incredible. I also had the chance to have an incredible massage with a view of Tokyo, to top it off I was treated to strawberries and sorbet after! Which in hindsight I think you probably need to give you the energy to leave the spa 😴 I’ve never felt so relaxed and spoilt. Thank you Mandarin for making my first stay in Japan so special!

We had a fabulous stay at the Mandarin in Tokyo in May 2023. The rooms are huge by Tokyo standard and the view is spectacular, I particularly liked the binoculars provided in the room. The in-room amenities were delicious, we looked forward to coming back to the hotel every evening knowing we would find some new fruit or mochi. The breakfast spread was very good. This is a great option if you are traveling with an infant. In the room, we were provided with a crib, bottle sterilizer, diaper genie, baby bathtub, baby toiletries and on our last day the front desk staff made a handkerchief bunny with a hand written note for our baby.I would like to give a special appreciation for the service, right from the gentlemen at the valet till the housekeeping staff. We were traveling with our 7 month old baby and she was treated like a celebrity by every member of the staff we encountered and by day 2, most of the staff knew her by name (Alyssa). This made us (first time parents traveling for the first time internationally with our baby) very happy.

A delightful experience every step of the way. Beautiful rooms with beautiful views. Outstanding service. The concierge in particular was very helpful in booking restaurants that were sold out, and helping us with every request with smile and a bow. We had friends staying at the Aman Tokyo. The service at Mandarin Oriental was superior.

Top tier service at a great hotel. It's my 4th time in Tokyo, and this time, we tried Mandarin. The service exceeds that of its main competitor - the staff caters for your every need. Small gifts and gestures are daily, and everyone is super kind. The hotel boasts restaurants with amazing food and beautiful views and a wonderful bar with live music and creative co*cktails. The breakfast is also fantastic. Overall, it's one of the best choices (if not the best) in Tokyo.

Stayed at the Mandarin Tokyo for 1 week for a working holiday. The staff were very attentive and flexible to all my requests. The breakfast was not a buffet style due to covid, but nevertheless delicious. Be sure to check out the Mandarin Spa, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Tokyo cityscape from their jacuzzi and sauna.

the customer service was the best - all the staff was super attentive and took care of us during our stay. They were also pleasing to talk with which I feel is rare in Japan! So Kudos to everyone. The reason 1 point is deducted is because I found some "odd" issues with the room - some staining in the shower and some of the drawers were crooked and not properly aligned so they took some work to open properly. (This was in Tokyo room 3421) - other than that - it really is a 10 - If I could've just made this a 9.9 or 9.8 I would have.

Overall, we absolutely loved our 4 day stay here. Top marks to the room attendants who made the place immaculate every day, even going as far as arranging our toiletries and organising all the charger cables! We also think our train ticket was accidentally cleaned away and after one call to reception, they organised a replacement! So kind efficient.Location is pretty great with nice restaurants around. It’s more in a business district than the bustling centre but not really an issue with the metro close by and cabs always waiting. We also had a lovely lady on reception who helped us book restaurants, tickets and gave us directions. The main reason for loosing a star is the spa. Before our midday train on the last day we were really excited to relax for an hour in the pool before leaving. We got fully changed in to our swim wear/gowns and headed down to the spa at 10am but on arrival were told that we were only allowed to use the area between 6am and 9am unless we booked a treatment. It was embarrassing and super disappointing especially for my girlfriend. We were not told this at any point during check in or in-room literature, so that kind of tarnished the stay at the end. Surprising given the thousands you pay to stay here. The only other negative is the breakfast is pricey at over £100 per day for the two of us, though it was lovely.Overall we loved our stay though and would definitely return.

Oh my god what a dream!! This place gives you what you pay for and more. I stayed here on my birthday and everyone was so kind and giving! Definitely make use of the spa and massage.... worth it! Mike was so helpful and booked us a spot at an omakase that was better than we could have imagined. The breakfast buffet was insanely good and the views were beyond beautiful. You can't go wrong with this one.

This place is amazing in every way. The rooms are immaculate, the food is amazing, the views second to none but most importantly the service - from the moment the reservation was made to the moment we checked out (actually, even beyond) they went out of their way to make it as pleasurable a stay as you could want. Helped navigate Tokyo, make reservations, train tickets, send items home, order taxis, tours, whatever you needed they were there to help. Best service you can imagine.

Was truly exceptional service! Food was absolutely amazing as well. We went to the Cantonese restaurant and pizza restaurant in the hotel and we loved it! Breakfast was a beautiful view overlooking the city. The room has been fantastic and the staff have been really kind with fantastic service.

Stay for 5 nights with my husband in MOTYO. The room is spacious, clean, luxurious. Bed is comfortable and nice. The downside just you need to change elevator twice to get to the room or exit the hotel. We got room with Mount Fuji view, it was beautiful in the clear sky.Location is good for shopping, and subway is right under the building. In the evening a little bit noisy because of police car or fire truck or ambulance’s sirens from the street/highway nearby. But not so annoying.Service is good, staffs are polite, friendly and remember the guests, they also attentive and helpful.

The hotel is truly spectacular. Great location, excellent amenities and delicious food. Service was impeccable. The views from the rooms are amazing. Our last day, we were greeted with a special desert for brunch when we told Fabio our wonderful waiter that we were leaving. He is amazing! Thank you all for such an amazing time.

We expected our stay to be excellent but it was more than excellent from the moment we arrived at the ground floor lobby to check-in to our room to the bar and breakfast and gym experiences. Mr. Shibuya at check in soon saw it was my birthday, and my 60th at that, and throughout our stay, we were greeted with extra little surprises that makes us want to stay at the MO Tokyo again. Thank you to all the staff whether out at front or in the back office!

We had a lovely first stay at The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo. Excellent service, the hotel was beautiful, the room spacious. Excellent drinks at the bar with a nice view of the Tokyo skyline. Our concierge who helped us was very helpful in booking us a dinner, and even comping welcome drinks.Thank you for a great first stay, and we look forward to visiting more Mandarin Oriental properties.

Had a great start and really enjoyed the service of the staff here who were exceptional in all details. They had a great breakfast every morning and located perfectly to explore the city with great train access. Will definitely come back here next time in Tokyo.

I am a guest who checked in on 7/15 .You were rang twice at 9:00 this morning. Your waiter took the key and opened the door to my room. My privacy was violated. Why can you open the door so boldly ? Did no one tell him that someone was still in this room? This behavior is very poor, can someone teach them that they can open the door at 9 am when the room is still occupied. Exaggerated behavior. Trespassing in my room without being told? If I'm sleeping, does he come straight into my room? Outrageous. Go adjust your cctv . I've stayed in so many hotels and I've never seen such exaggerated behavior. Later, he came to get the key to open my door, and I told him to leave before he left. Is this the level that a five-star hotel should have? Do I need to get a chair to the door to reach the kinky housekeeper?

It's a great hotel, amazing receptionists and overall sublime customer attention. Rooms are spacious and provided with whatever you need, including a binocular to watch the fantastic view from the window, directly towards Tokyo Tower.Excellent facilities including a well equipped and clean fitness centre, where you can get fresh water and fruits to boost your training. The concierge deserve to be mentioned as well, super efficient and kind, at any hour under any circ*mstances.Kudo to MO Tokyo and its whole staffI will come back during my next staying at Tokyo

My stay at the Mandarin not only exceeded my every expectation for service, quality and overall comfort, it raised the bar of what I expect from a hotel. My stay was easily the most enjoyable and memorable hotel experience I’ve had in my life and I am inspired to do everything in my power to return! Special thanks to the staff - you guys are really the lifeblood of the organization. They should make a new word because hotel doesn’t do it justice.

My wife and I stayed here for five nights on our first wedding anniversary trip in August '23.The rooms are very nice and the amenities are what you would expect from a Mandarin property. Everyone on the staff that we encountered were very helpful and as English speakers, this was a particularly easy hotel to navigate. We also felt like the quality of this hotel, relative to the cost, was better than many of the other 'luxury' options. The views from the room are spectacular! The only minor complaint with this hotel is that the location is a little remote - you're not really within walking distance of many interesting sites, but the good news is that transit is close by and easily accessible.Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel for a quality, relaxing experience.

Our family trip to Japan started off with a 4 night stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Tokyo and we were blown away. From the moment we were greeted in the lobby, we knew we made the right choice. In a city with many five star luxury hotels, this property did not disappoint. Upon arrival, they accommodated our request to have our rooms close together. The breakfast was amazing, they surprised us with a fluffy soufflé pancake one morning, even though they typically don't make them but they knew our son wanted to try one. I had a fabulous massage at their incredible spa. Afternoon tea was a delight and the view from every single angle in the hotel was spectacular and never got old. You felt on top of the world, it was a welcomed respite. The dinners did not disappoint and the concierge was incredibly helpful with every single request. When we returned to our rooms every evening, we were greeted with the intoxicating aroma of the best fruit any of us have ever had.The property and staff were truly amazing. It was a perfect way to start off our trip to Japan. We were so impressed, we've decided our next trip will be to the Mandarin Oriental in Lake Como, we can't wait!

Impressive experience here at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo location from check-in to check out. The staff was accommodating to my requests, and ensured I had an exquisite stay. I am a huge fan of personal touches on my stay and their staff executed this well. The concierge team worked with me to secure exclusive reservations at some of the top dining experiences in the city. Highly recommend staying here to get the most out of your trip. Be sure to use the spa complimentary in the mornings when it is available to guests!

Without a shadow of a doubt, a phenomenal hotel that has a level of service that is eye wateringly impressive yet so discreet at the same time. We have just left following a 3 night stay to celebrate the start of our honeymoon in Japan. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after. Fantastic room (ridiculously spacious and incredible views) that clearly has had every detail thought through. Very friendly staff who manage to balance exceptional service alongside being kind and discreet. Beds huge and incredibly comfortable with a pillow menu longer than many wine lists. The breakfast was easily the best we have ever had - huge buffet alongside one a la carte option. Rarely get excellent fruit in the way they served here - berries through to dragon fruit constantly replenished made it feel worth it. Hotel is only on top few floors so everywhere you look is an amazing view to enjoy. Wine list was excellent and surprisingly accessible. Spa was absolutely knock out - view from the onsen and the sauna will unlikely be ever matched so definitely one to enjoy and remember! Night three we had a child running back and forth in the room above - undoubtedly awkward for the team to deal with but they did with impressive speed, just one example of their eagerness to make the stay an excellent one.Two small points - bar area was stunning but oddly chilly, particularly by the waterfall. Spa was free to use 6am - 9.30am - prices at the hotel are eye watering at this time of year, absolutely should not be charged for spa use beyond these times but you are. Two tiny points that do not detract from a 10 out of 10 stay.

The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is an absolutely beautiful hotel, its staff treated us with such great service and took every care to make sure we had anything we needed.I am moving from the US to Japan and that whole process was generally speaking, very stressful but our stay with the Mandarin Oriental was exactly what I needed after constant trouble I had to deal with during the relocation process. Their attention to detail left me astounded, their housekeeping staff and room services are fantastic down to the little details, gifts and services they provide. I truly made me feel cared for in a way I don’t think I have ever experienced before during other vacations. The restaurants were amazing, the waitstaff were experienced, knowledgeable and so very friendly. The only thing I wish I had done differently was stay longer to try all of the restaurants out.My mother made use spa services and cannot get over the fantastic view and loved the treatment she got.I cannot wait to come back the next time I am in Tokyo.
