Thank you to @WTHR-TV for spreading the good news that a grant secured by IU Health Foundation and IU School of Nursing will train 300 new Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs), who provide trauma-informed care and collect forensic evidence to be used in court.https://bit.ly/4dXQFSP

"Most of you likely know that IU Health is Indiana’s largest healthcare system, serving more than 1 million patients a year. What you might not know is that, with 38,000 team members, IU Health also is the largest employer headquartered in Indiana."Read the quarterly report from Crystal Miller, Foundation president here: https://bit.ly/3SUZG6R

1 in 5 women in Indiana has been sexually assaulted. But Indiana has a shortage of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs), who provide trauma-informed care and collect forensic evidence to be used in court. In collaboration with the Indiana University School of Nursing we secured a $1.39 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS to train 300 more SANEs in Indiana. A special thank you to Barbra Bachmeier, NP, forensic nurse at IU Health, who is director of the grant-funded “IU Health and IU School of Nursing Academic-Practice Partnership for Forensic Nursing” project.https://lnkd.in/gqrCTAJS

Good luck to our cancer patients and their supporters as they gear up for a race! Many of IU Health Simon Cancer Center patients rely on the philanthropy-funded MOVE program as part of their recovery program. MOVE, standing for Multidisciplinary Oncology Vitality and Exercise, provides every patient with aerobic exercise, resistance and strength training to help with fatigue from chemotherapy. You can donate directly to MOVE here: https://bit.ly/3Xem6mrhttps://bit.ly/3SYaeCt
