1 in 5 women in Indiana has been sexually assaulted. But Indiana has a shortage of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs), who provide trauma-informed care and collect forensic evidence to be used in court. In collaboration with the Indiana University School of Nursing we secured a $1.39 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS to train 300 more SANEs in Indiana.
