  • This perfect side dish is ready in 20 minutes.
  • While perfect as a side to your main protein, these are also perfect to use as the base of nachos.
  • Everyone will be happy to dip these sweet potato wedges in their sauce of choice.
  • Air frying gives you crispy results without the mess of deep frying.

Recommended Ingredients

Air Fryer Sweet Potato Wedges Recipe (2)
  • Sweet potatoes are considered to be anti-inflammatory and full of antioxidants. I like to wash and peel them, and then cut them into wedges on a cutting board with a sharp knife.
  • Olive oil helps the wedges brown in the air fryer. You could also use melted coconut oil, avocado oil, or melted butter if you aren’t on a dairy-free diet.
  • The garlic powder and paprika are just enough to add some flavor but they don’t overpower the sweet potato. You can use whatever seasonings you like; I like to use minimal ingredients to keep it simple.

Please see the recipe card at the end of this post for the exact measurements.

Recipe Steps

Step One

Scrub the sweet potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel.

After peeling and cutting, add the sweet potatoes to a large mixing bowl with all the other simple ingredients.

Please see the recipe card at the end of this post for the exact ingredients and measurements.

Step Two

Add to the air fryer basket. For best results and crispy edges, try to keep them in a single layer.

Step Three

Cook at 350 degrees F for a cook time of 8 minutes, tossing halfway through cooking time. Just give them a little shake or use tongs to turn them over.

Then cook for additional time so you get crispy sweet potato wedges that are soft inside.

Serve your homemade wedges warm, either plain or with your favorite dipping sauce. These are a delicious side dish made with less oil than regular fries. They are also a perfect snack.

This is one of those great air fryer recipes that takes less time than using the regular oven. If you want to make a second batch, go ahead!

Recipe Tips

  • Some air fryer models needs to be preheated. Please refer to the owner’s manual of your particular model to see if you need to preheat it before using.
  • You don’t have to peel the sweet potatoes if you don’t want to, but I prefer them peeled as they are easier to digest without the peel.
  • Try to slice your wedges into uniform sizes as much as possible so they will cook evenly. Each sweet potato should yield about 6-8 wedges.
  • Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, you may be able to double this recipe.
  • Try 1 1/2 teaspoons of ranch or taco seasoning in place of the recommended seasonings. Or, try black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, or whatever you like.

Recipe FAQs

What can I serve these sweet potato wedges with?

They will be perfect as-is next to a burger or chicken breast. I’d also recommend using them as the base to nacho/taco toppings!

How do I store leftovers?

Place cooled wedges in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They are great cold on a green salad, or you can quickly reheat in the air fryer.

  • 2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sweet potato wedges, oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and pepper. Toss to combine.
  2. Transfer the sweet potato wedges to your air fryer basket. Try to put them in a single layer without overlapping too much. Set the temperature to 350°F for 8 minutes.
